Law Students

There are many ways for law students to get involved.  Below are just some of the opportunities available.  To apply, complete our Law Student Volunteer Application and email it to volunteer@bettzedek.org along with a copy of your resume.  Contact our Pro Bono Coordinator at (323) 549-5895 with any questions.

Intern or Extern at Bet Tzedek

Under attorney supervision, law clerks carry their own caseloads and work directly with clients in our different units.  Students may represent clients in hearings, interview witnesses, or perform legal research and writing.  We welcome students who can commit at least 8-10 hours per week for the semester.

Staff a Legal Clinic

Law students can assist at three clinics where we provide legal assistance to clients.  Click on the title to learn more about our Debtors’ Rights Clinic, our Self-Help Conservatorship Clinic and our Employment Rights Clinic.

Summer for Justice

We offer a structured and engaging 10-week summer program for law clerks.  Placements are available in each of our units, including Employment Rights, Impact Litigation and Holocaust Services.  The Summer for Justice affords professional, educational, and social opportunities that can only be found in a city as rich in diversity as Los Angeles.   Learn more about the Summer for Justice.
